Maleficent

I recently watched this movie and I would like to give it 5/5 stars. This movie was awesome and very impressive. It tells a completely different story of the traditional "Sleeping Beauty" story but from the perspective of maleficent. This movie incorporated true love, action, and a little bit of comedy. This movie also proved that a mother's love outrules all love. If you get the chance, watch this movie!!

Godzilla

This movie was suprisingly very good. It had everything a movie should have, action, romance, and suspense. Also, it was very impressive that they didn't show Godzilla till about 3/4 into the movie. The beginning of the movie is in china, there's a familt saying good bye as the parents go to work. The parents are at some sort of nuclear plant. The mom goes downstairs into some strange part, you hear that the place is about to blow. Unfortunately that dad could not save the mom. Then the story is set many years later and the story centers around the son who now has a family to take care of.

Scream

Halloween is just around the corner and that means haunted houses, corn mazes, and my personal favorite Scary Movies. If you haven't already noticed I have been reviewing a lot of scary movies in this month of October. This is partly because it is Halloween season but also because I just really love scary movies. Scream would have to be a classic. This was one of the first scary movies I ever watched.

The movie starts out with Drew Barrymore at her house making popcorn and watching a scary movie. She gets a phone. Wrong number, she hangs up. But the caller keeps calling. At one point Barrymore flirts with the caller lying and saying she doesn't have a boyfriend. One call the caller says "I can see you" Barrymore gets freaked out.

She looks to the back of the house and sees her boyfriend Steve tied up and bleeding. She gets scared and turns off the light. Casey's parents come home to see the popcorn burning on the stove and Casey no where in sight. The mother runs outside to see Casey hanging from a tree.

The story then shifts to Sydney. Sydney goes to the same high school that Casey went too so she hears about her. The masked killer is a big deal now and everyone is a suspect. Tune in to this great scary movie now!

Devil

I watched this movie for the first time this week and it was excellent. It was scary, but not really scary. So if your terrifed of scary movies don't let that stop you from watching this movie.

The movie starts with 5 people walking into an office building. There is an older woman, security guard, younger woman, hipster of sort guy, and a business looking man. They all step into an elevator. The elevator goes up, just like it should, then comes to an abrupt stop. Everything's fine... right? Wrong. There's 5 people stuck in the elevator, one problem one of them happens to be the devil.

Like any normal person would, everyone is freaking out. Upstairs there are two security guards looking at the footage of all the elevators, when they see that elevator 6 has come to a halt. They try to communicate to the people in the elevator but it only works one way. They tell them that there is a someone going to try to fix it.

Meanwhile the elevator is going bizzark, lights are turning on and off and conflict is starting to arise. When the lights turn off for a significant amount something horrible happens. After the lights turn on the young woman's back is bleeding. Looking like bite marks. The two security guards see and call the detective.

The detective happened to be investigating a suicide in that same building. The detective arrives to a someone dead in the elevator. No ones know what is going on and you'll just have to watch the movie to find out.

Life of Pi

In honor of reading this in English, I am reviewing the movie Life of Pi. This was a very long, but good book. The book is split into 3 parts. Part 1, Pi's background, all about his life and his religious morals. Part 2, Pi's life at sea. Part 3, the interview between Pi and the 2 Japanese interviewers. The book exemplified great detail and was very entertaining to read. The movie... not so much. On a scale of 1-5 I would rate the movie a 4 not reading the book, and a 3 having read the book. In my opinion the book was way better than the movie. And I know that movies won't always be like books but they added in many things, and forgot to put in a lot of things that were  very important. For example they gave Pi a girlfriend in the movie, but she wasn't in the book. They also shortened the part when Pi is on the island and that is one of the longest and most important parts of part 2.  Anyways the movie was mediocre and I wouldn't watch it again but it was worth watching

The Conjuring

In honor of Annabelle coming out today I thought I would talk about the conjuring. If you didn't know Annabelle is based of the Conjuring. In the conjuring the couple who perform the excorsisms have a room where they keep all the items that have held the evil spirits. One of these items is the doll Annabelle. You also see Annabelle when the couple are at their seminar they speak about the people who owned Annabelle.

The conjuring was a fantastic movie in my opinion, it was a scary movie although sister watched it who is terrifed of all scary things and did not get scared. This movie is about a family who moves into a new house where bad things had happened before. After many incidents including strange marks on the mother, forces pulling the children in their sleep, and the family pet being left dead, the family decides to call the couple to come help them.

Now I'm not going to tell you what happens next because that would just be a spoiler, but it's a great movie and I would recommend it to anyone who lives a good ole scary movie.

The Maze Runner

I went and saw this movie this weekend and it was fabulous. Although I have not read the book, so I am not quite sure if it followed the book, but I thought that the movie was fantastic. Throughout the whole thing you were on the edge of your seat hoping for the good guys to win. There were a lot of great characters in this movie including Thomas, Newt, Alby, and Minho.

Now I know that one of your questions is why would I want to watch this movie. And my answer is why would you not want to. It has everything you could ever want. Betrayal, suspense, action, and a hint of romance. What more can you ask for in a movie?

I'm sure your other question is why can't I just wait for the movie to come out. Well you will be waiting for a very, very long time. It would be so much easier to just go to the movies and see this wonderful movie.

If you are not convinced to go watch this movie then I do not know what will convince you. So go watch the Maze Runner!!!

The Fault In Our Stars

This movie is definitely on my top 5 favorite movies. Now it is based on a book but the movie does a beautiful job of reenacting the book. With a tear jerking story line you are sure to shed some tears. Although this movie is more targeted for teenage girls, anyone can enjoy this movie! Hazel Grace Lancaster is a teenager with lung cancer who reads the same book over and over again. When Hazel's mom makes her go to a support group she meets Augustus Waters who is unlike any guy she has met before. He cares about her and wants to get to know Hazel for who she is. This begins the epic story of Hazel's and Gus' love story.

Why should you watch this movie?
This movie is just plain amazing. You may think that it is some cliché chick flick, but I am here to tell you that you are wrong. Now, let's say that your friend completely ruined the ending for you and you don't want to go to the movie. Well don't let that stop you from seeing this movie. Even if you do know the ending you should still go see!

If I see this movie will it completely ruin the book?
Absolutely not! The makers of this movie did a fabulous job of creating this movie to match the book. Sure, there are some things that they couldn't fit in the movie, but they did not leave out any huge parts. Also they didn't really add any parts that they shouldn't have.

Things That Will Happen While Watching This Movie
  1. You will go through at least one box of tissues
  2. You will develop severe character attachment
  3. You will spend you whole life looking for an Augustus Waters
  4. You will be at a loss of words by the end
  5. You will use metaphors a lot more
  6. You'll want to visit the literal heart of Jesus
  7. You will want to go to the Anne Frank museum in Amsterdam
  8. You will develop hate for Peter Van Houten
  9. You will cry every time hearing okay? Okay
  10. You will want an okay or always

Frozen

With this post I thought I would do something a little different. I'm sure almost everyone has seen the iconic Disney movie Frozen. With it's catchy songs, tear jerking story line, and enough girl power to fill a teenager's Starbucks cup. This movie is great for every age, from 5-30 years old. With so many lovable characters you'll have a hard time choosing your favorite one.

The story starts out with sisters Ana and Elsa. Elsa unfortunately is cursed with ice powers that she has to keep from her sister Ana after an unfortunate accident. When the sisters parents go on a trip and never return they are locked in the castle and live a life of seclusion. When it is finally time for Elsa's coronation day the gates will finally be open for the whole village to come. Ana is overcome with joy, Elsa on the other hand is extremely terrified about accidentally showing her powers and revealing herself to the world. After the coronation goes smoothly there is the after party where Ana breaks the news to Elsa about wanting to marry a guy she just met. Elsa is appalled by the idea which causes an argument between the two and causes Elsa to accidentally reveal her icy powers. All the guests are terrified as Elsa runs away  up to the mountain. While she thinks she is free, she has cast an eternal winter on Erindale which she can only reverse.

Ana then goes to chase her sister up the mountain, on her journey she meets Olaf the famous snowman who loves warm hugs, Sven, and Kristoff who help her find her sister. I highly recommend this movie with famous tagline "Some people are worth melting for" I would say that the movie is worth melting for. Even if you have already seen this movie, it's a great movie that you could probably watch over and over again. Another great plus of this movie s the songs, which include: Love is an Open Door, Let it Go, For the First Time In Forever, and Summer. By the end of the movie you will have these songs stuck in your head and refusing to get out. You will also get tons of Frozen merchandise all around your house. You'll also being quoting this movie 24/7. You're probably thinking that this doesn't sound very delightful, but it is very delightful, the gift of Frozen if beautiful!

No Good Deed

No Good Deed is coming to a theater near you on September 12th 2014. Maybe a good deed isn't  always as good as you think. When Terri offers her phone to a stranger in need, she quickly learns that no good deed comes without a price. When the stranger enters her home, it becomes a deadly game of hide and seek, where only one winner shall prevail. No Good Deed is a thriller that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat till the end. With the tagline "First he gets in your house. Then he gets in your head" this movie is expected to impress. Main characters Terri, played by academy award nominee Taraji P. Henson, and Colin Evans, played by Golden Globe winner Idris Elba, this movie not only has an impressive theme but an impressive cast.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2011159/

There have been many intruder films in the past, I feel like this movie will be unique, partly because the intruder was invited in. It will be a spin on any other scary movie. I also believe that this film will appeal to a lot of adults emotions, parents will imagine this happening to their own home, which it is scary in a whole new way, not with monsters or things that aren't real, but things that could happen to you in your own town, in your own home. This movie is rated PG-13, so it's not to inappropriate where only a small crowd of people can watch it, although it is definitely not for small children. I am very excited to see this movie, I have very high hopes for it. I hope that everyone considers this movie and goes to see it!

If I Stay

If I Stay, based off the novel by Gayle Forman is about a love story between Mia and Adam. After Mia's family gets into a car accident leaving Mia in a coma, and her parents gone. How can Mia stay without her parents, but how can she go without Adam? This movie will leave you in tears and keep you on the edge of your seat never wanting it to end. I highly recommend this movie!
